Sports swimming in Czechoslovakia 1918-1938
Tomšová, Petra ; Waic, Marek (advisor) ; Kasper, Tomáš (referee)
The dissertation deals with sport swimming in the Czech lands and in Czechoslovakia in the interwar period, specifically in the period of the so-called First Republic. However, the work dates back to the beginning of the 19th century, when the first, especially river, swimming pools began to be established in our territory, which were first used for swimming training of soldiers, and only at the end of the 19th century did the general public learn to swim and there are also the first swimming competitions. The greatest development of sport swimming in our territory occurred only after the First World War, when the Czechoslovak Amateur Swimming Association was founded and it sought maximum organizational, financial and material support for swimming. Our swimmers achieved the best swimming performances in the 1920s, when they were able to compete with the European swimming powers. However, they did not have the world's top swimming, which was also seen at the Olympic Games in 1920, 1924, 1928 and 1936. In the early 1930s, the performance of our swimmers began to stagnate, which could be attributed to the fact that in other countries swimming was supported in all respects, but this was not the case in the Czechoslovak Republic, from the very beginning of sport swimming in our territory. Inclusion in swimming
Komárková, Kateřina ; Čechovská, Irena (advisor) ; Peslová, Eva (referee)
Title: Inclusion in Swimming Objectives: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to identify the conditions and success of inclusion of disabled people in the swimming training of healthy athletes. The sub-objective was to collect information on specifications of training of disabled swimmers; coaches' preparation; and advantages and disadvantages of inclusive training. Seven research questions had been identified. Methods: Questionnaire survey method was used to collect information about the process of inclusion, and selected swimming coaches with experience with inclusion were asked to fill it out. Answers were analyzed and interpreted in the results section of the thesis and supported with graphs and tables. Results: Research has shown that inclusion is possible in most cases immediately or within one to four weeks; that there is a lack of barrier-free space for quality training; that clients are able to adapt to a group training of non-disabled and do not require a special training for themselves; that trainers are not actively seeking for a cooperation with clients-athletes, and that the first impulse usually arises from the athlete or a person close to the athlete; that the disabled athletes are often competing in races with healthy swimmers; and, finally, that the trainers are encouraged for...

Motor testing of children in basic stage of swimming training
Trč, Stanislav ; Chrzanowská, Babeta (advisor) ; Jurák, Daniel (referee)
Title: Motor testing of children in elementary stage of swimming training Target: The main goal of the thesis is to determine level of motor skills of swimmers in elementary stage of training by means of UNIFITTEST (6-60) test battery. Findings will be compared with selected results of other groups of sporting and unsporting children age 10 - 12. Methods: Two basic methods were selected to obtain required data. A controlled interview with swimming coach was used in order to select the research group. Consequently selected swimmers were tested for motor condition according to UNIFITTEST (6 - 60) test battery (Měkota, Kovář et al. 2002). Data acquired from the selected tests were processed and graphically expressed using mathematic - statistical method. Comparative method was used to compare results of group unsporting children with selected group of children from modern pentathlon. Results: By evaluating all results from four basic tests UNIFITTEST (6 - 60) 61 % of the swimmers have acquired above average evaluation of motor performance. Comparison of swimming group and unsporting children proved better results of swimmers in 12 minute run and shudder. In other tests results of boys from swimming and unsporting children were comparable. Among girls the swimming group was significantly better. Modern...
